What is the age required to become a member?

Membership is for youth ages 6-29. You must be 6 years old at the time of signing up to become a member.

Is there a cost for membership or programs?

No. Membership and registering for programs are all completely free.

What is included with my membership?

Each member gets a MLSE LaunchPad membership tag that gives you access to our facility.

Each member also has access to a registration platform called MLSE Scoreboard, that allows you to sign up for free programs and events.

How long does my membership last?

We provide programs and services for youth from 6 to 29 years old. The only time a membership expires is when you reach 30 years old, at which point your account will be deactivated.

Weekly newsletters will be sent to your email about what is happening in the facility. We also post facility information on our TVs in the Atrium.
Scoreboard & Program Registration

What is MLSE Scoreboard?

MLSE Scoreboard is our online platform where you can register for programs, view your program schedule, and earn prizes by collecting Scoreboard points! You can earn points by attending programs, completing surveys, and by listening to LaunchPad coaches. You can think of your points as money – save them up to buy something bigger or spend them on smaller prizes for yourself.

Who can earn points on Scoreboard?

Only youth participants who have a Scoreboard account can earn and redeem points.

How do I register for programs?

To register, sign in to your Scoreboard account and follow the links below. If you only have a Participant Account, register through that. If you have a Parent Account, please note that you will need to register through it.

How to Register: Scoreboard‍
Registering through a participant account
Registering through a parent account

What is a Parent Account on MLSE Scoreboard?

Stay connected to what your children are doing at MLSE LaunchPad by creating a Parent Account. As a parent or guardian, MLSE Scoreboard will help you stay connected to MLSE LaunchPad and your children’s experience with us. You’ll be able to view your kids’ schedule, receive messages from us, and see how members earn and save up Scoreboard Points for desired prizes. While we wish to encourage members to learn and experience this with a sense of independence, we also understand the need to keep parents and guardians informed and involved.

I’m a parent of a member and I can’t sign them up to programs?

The Parent Account links to each of your child’s accounts, allowing you to view the messages they receive, the surveys they complete, and their schedule, to access and manage their profiles, and register them for programs. Once you have a parent account, you can no longer register from your children’s Participant Accounts.

What if I have trouble registering online via Scoreboard?

You can call us at (416) 637-7588, email us at info@mlselaunchpad.org or stop by in person at 259 Jarvis St. where the Member Services team will be happy to help you.

How many programs can I register for?

You are welcome to enroll in up to 5 programs per cycle (nine weeks of programming).

Please note registering to programs is on a first-come, first-served basis.

When does registering for programs end?

Registering for programs stays open throughout the cycle, on a first-come, first-served basis.

Can I register for programs if I join late in the cycle?

Yes, registration remains open throughout the cycle.

When does program registration take place?

Cycle Program registration (Fall, Winter, Winter 1, and Spring) typically opens three weeks before the next cycle begins. Upcoming registration dates are always shared in the LaunchPad newsletters.

PA Day registration opens about a week and a half before each PA Day.

March Break program registration opens in mid‑February.

Summer program registration opens at the end of April.

How do I cancel program registration?

Cancelling program registration can only be done by emailing info@mlselaunchpad.org or calling us at (416) 637-7588.

What if I have to miss a day of programming?

Give us a call (416) 637-7588 or email (info@mlselaunchpad.org) to say that you will be absent.

What happens if my child misses multiple days? Would they be removed?

If your child misses two sessions in a row, they will be removed from that program. Frequent absences may also lead to removal, as some of our programs have limited spaces and long wait lists. If they wish to return and space is available, they may re-register.

I’m on the waitlist for a program. When will I know I’m registered?

You will receive an email from Scoreboard letting you know you have been registered in the program.

How do I update my contact information on Scoreboard?

You will log in to either your child’s account or your parent account. Then navigate to your profile page and follow these steps:
o Step 1 Click Edit Information
o Step 2 Click on the information you need to edit
o Step 3 Click Save at the bottom of the page
MLSE Scoreboard Store

How do I redeem Scoreboard Points

The Store is where participants can exchange their Scoreboard Points for exciting prizes. Redemption for items can only be done through a Participant Account and not a Parent Account.

How do I pick up my MLSE Scoreboard store order

Member’s will receive an email confirming their order is ready by the Member Services team. They will then come into the facility and show the email to a Member Services staff and they will call for the order to be brought to the front desk.

Can a I order multiple quantities of the same item?

No. Members can only purchase one of each item per cycle. For example, if a member orders three cameras, two of them will be automatically refunded during the packaging process. To ensure their order is processed efficiently, members should only select one of each item.
First Day

When I come for programs, what do I need to bring with me? Do I need to bring my own sports equipment, or is it provided?

Athletic wear, water bottle, and non-marking athletic footwear.

We provided the sports equipment for every program. You just need to bring yourself 😊

Who facilitates the programs? What are the outcomes for the programs?

All of our programming is facilitated by coaches with CPR, First Aid, and HIGH FIVE training. In addition to our coaching staff, programming at MLSE LaunchPad is supported by our Youth Mentors, Member Services, Operations and Kitchen staff teams. We prioritize hiring from our local community for all of our staff roles.

The primary outcome for all our 6-10 programming is the development of physical literacy. Physical literacy is the competence, confidence and motivation to engage in a variety of physical activities – basically, it is the building block for a lifetime of movement and fun!

The primary outcome for all of our 11-14 & 15-18 programming is the introduction and definition of MLSE LaunchPad’s life skills. At the 15-18 age group, the focus moves to the transference of life skills – how the skills learned on the court at MLSE LaunchPad can be transferred into your everyday life. We strongly believe that sport can help to improve outcomes for youth, and we are actively working to support youth in transferring the skills they learn on court into the real world.

Are my parents or guardians permitted to join me in court?

Our policy is that parents/guardians are given a red badge and are not allowed on the court; they must remain in the Atrium. If assistance is required, staff will let you know if your parent/guardian may come onto the court.

It’s my first time at MLSE LaunchPad, what should I expect?

You will check in at the front desk and let the Member Services staff know it’s your first day. They will provide you with your membership tag and give you a quick tour of the facility. From there, you will wait in the Atrium, where you can grab a free snack until the coaches call you for your program.

Is there parking or public transit nearby?

We do not have parking on site. There are Green P and Precise Parklink across the street from us.

Subway Route
o Take Line 1 (Yonge–University) to Dundas Station
o Walk east on Dundas St E for ~5 minutes
o Turn left on Jarvis St — MLSE LaunchPad is on the left,

I’m a parent/guardian, what can I do at MLSE LaunchPad / what is expected of me?

All parents/guardians must remain in the Atrium while their youth is participating in programs.

You will be provided with a red badge, which indicates Atrium-only access.  You are welcome to grab a snack while you wait. Please be mindful to clean up after yourself and your family, as the Atrium is a shared space and other families will need a place to sit once you leave.

If you have a younger child with you, it is your responsibility to:
o Keep them entertained in the Atrium
o Ensure they do not run onto the court or disrupt the space

I’m a parent, can I drop my child off and come back later?

Yes, you can! As long as you return when the program ends, or give us a call (416) 637-7588 if you are running late. Please note our hours of operation are Monday to Friday 9:00AM – 9:00PM and Saturdays 10:00AM – 5:00PM. We are closed on Sundays.

What is the check-out process when I’m picking up my child from programs?

Youth are required to check out with a staff member before leaving MLSE LaunchPad.

If a youth’s Scoreboard profile indicates they are permitted to leave independently, they may do so after completing the check-out process.

If a youth must be picked up by a parent or guardian, they will only be released to an individual listed as a contact on their Scoreboard profile. If no approved contact is present at pick-up, we will call the phone number on file.

To review or update your child or ward’s check-out permissions or to add trusted adults to their profile, please visit MLSE LaunchPad, email us at info@mlselaunchpad.org or call us at (416) 637-7588, and we will be happy to assist you.

To view our code of conduct, please click here.

Is there a loss & found if I forget something?

Yes, ask Member Services, and they will direct you to the bin.

Is my child able to move up to the older age group in they haven’t turned that age yet?

We strongly encourage youth to stay within their age groups but under certain circumstances we can understand if it is necessary to move them up. This is a very case-by-case basis, and we will not do it for everyone as we have age groups for a reason.
